Designer, Researcher, &
Advocate for Accessibility

I’m Dominique Marcil, a multidisciplinary designer and researcher with a strong foundation in graphic design, UX/UI design, and accessibility-focused digital experiences. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in New Media from the University of Lethbridge and have developed expertise in creating intuitive and inclusive digital spaces that prioritize neurodivergent users and those with disabilities. My work blends design, technology, and advocacy to improve user experiences across platforms.
My research and professional projects focus on reducing cognitive load in digital environments, ensuring that interfaces and content are mentally accessible to diverse audiences. I emphasize bite-sized, structured information, giving users control over how they engage with material. I also explore color blindness accommodations, multimodal accessibility features, and interactive prototypes to create seamless, user-friendly experiences.
I believe in designing experiences that empower users by respecting their autonomy, diversity, and cognitive needs. My philosophy centers around the idea that accessibility isn’t just a feature—it’s a mindset that shapes how we approach design, communication, and interaction. By reducing cognitive load and creating inclusive environments, we provide everyone with the space to engage meaningfully, without being overwhelmed or excluded.
